THE LANGUAGE OF SELF ESTEEM
Building Self Confidence - April 21, 2008
Hi Partners!
The April 2 minute drills are adapted from PCA Executive Director Jim
Thompson's books, The Double-Goal Coach and /Positive Coaching in a
Nutshell/. To order these and other books by Jim Thompson, please visit
https://www.positivecoach.org/store/Default.aspx.
This month's tips for coaches and parents focus on helping young
athletes to have the self-confidence to take on challenges and
appreciate the effort that they put forth each and every day, both on
and off the field.
Remember, message bombardment is key to your Positive Coaching
initiative, so keep it going! Be sure to pass these tips along to the
coaches and parents in your organization.

Help the Little League players on your team get all they can from baseball and softball: wins and life lessons on and off the field. This thirty-minute webinar, led by Positive Coaching Alliance Founder and Executive Director Jim Thompson, and Little League International Director of Operations Nick Caringi, provides an introduction to:
- The Little League Double-Goal Coach Model, in which a coach's first goal is winning and second, more-important goal is teaching life lessons through sports.
- Tips and tools for improving player performances while providing them with character-education and life skills that serve them on and off the field.
- Strategies for building a team culture where coaches, parents and players are all on the same page.
Join us for the education and inspiration that will help you help your Little League players. Please note that this is not a Positive Coaching Alliance workshop. This webinar is intended to give you an introduction to some of the principles and tools discussed in the Little League- Double-Goal Coach workshop, which is two hours in length.
Registration is limited to 1,000 participants, so please be sure to secure your spot as soon as possible.
*Wondering what a webinar is?
A webinar is a lecture delivered over the internet where participants follow along visually on their computer and listen in via phone. DLL Staff - March 2, 2008
Dear Managers, Coaches, Umpires and Parents,
Thank you! Because of your commitment to improving Davis Little League (DLL) through the Postive Coacing Alliance (PCA), we have earned the PCA Seal of Commitment! The Seal honors DLL for our efforts to provide a "Double-Goal" for all of the youth in our program. The first goal is winning, and the second, but more important goal, is to use the DLL experience to teach important life lessons.
Thank you for your support!

This month's tip for coaches focuses on making sure you are reinforcing the types of behavior you want to see from the young athletes on your team. And for parents, the goal this month is to let the coach do the coaching and to keep notes on what you'll do when you coach a team some day!
