Davis Little League is a member of California District 64. There are 12 local leagues that comprise District 64, including Davis American, Davis National, Dixon, Esparto, Travis, Rio Vista, Vacaville American, Vacaville Central, Vacaville National, Woodland American, Woodland National and Winters.

District 64 hosts an annual "All-Star" tournament at the end of the regular Little League season. Davis Little League is represented by an 11-12 year old team, a 10-11 year old team, and a 9-10 year old team for both the Davis American and National Leagues.

Every Davis Little League player age 9 or older that is in "good standing" is eligible to participate in tournament play provided they are selected to the team. In addition, the 11-12 and older teams have the opportunity to advance to the annual Little League World Series! The first step toward achieving the World Series goal is to participate in and win the District 64 Tournament.

It is expected that every player selected to a District 64 Tournament Team will commit to any postseason play necessary, including practices and games, throughout the District 64 tournament period. Postseason play will begin immediately following the regular spring season.

Team Manager
The Davis Little League District 64 Tournament Team Manager selection starts with manager candidates submitting an appication to the league President. The Tournament Team Manager is then chosen by a majority vote of the league President and Vice Presidents. In turn, the Tournament Team coaches are appointed by a majority approval of the President and Vice Presidents.

"All-Star" Player Selection Process
The Davis Little League "All Stars" represent the pool of players eligible to participate on the District 64 Tournament Team. Regular season managers vote for players who will become the "All Stars." This pool of players are selected to become the Tournament Team. Remaining players on the list are part of the Fourth of July Exhibition games.

Tournament Teams

11-12 Team: A pool of regular season Major League Players in "good standing" will be selected to become the "11-12 All Stars." The Tournament Team Selection Committee will then select 12-14 players to the 11-12 Tournament Team. The remaining "All Star" players will be considered as alternates and will play in the Fourth of July Exhibition game. 10-11 Team: A pool of regular season Major League Players in "good standing" will be selected to become the "11 All Stars." The Tournament Team Selection Committee will then select 12-14 players to the 11-12 Tournament Team. The remaining "All Star" players will be considered as alternates and will play in the Fourth of July Exhibition game. 9-10 Year Olds: A pool of regular season 9 and 10 year old players in "good standing" will be selected to become the "9-10 All Stars." The Tournament Team Selection Committee will then select 12-14 players to the 9-10 Tournament Team. The remaining "All Star" players will be considered as alternates and will play in the Fourth of July Exhibition game.

9-10s, 10-11s, and 11-12s Tournament Team Selections

"All Stars" participate in a selection process conducted by a 5-member Tournament Team Selection Committee. The Tournament Team Selection Committee consists of: Tournament Team Manager, Player Representative, Umpire Coordinator, and two individuals appointed by the President.

The Tournament Team Selection Committee is responsible to select, by majority vote, those individual "All Stars" who will become the official Tournament Team. Before tournament team player selection is made, the selection process is careful to consider:

1. The player's regular season performance,
2. The player's regular season participation,
3. The tournament team's "critical needs" (catcher, pitcher, shortstop etc.),
4. Committee member's personal knowledge of players and their abilities, and
5. Input from the President, Vice Presidents and the Tournament Team coaches.

Those selected to the Tournament Team will be notified by the Team Manager. Those "All Stars" who do not make the Tournament Team will be considered as alternates and may be added to the Tournament Team should a selected player be unable to play on the Tournament Team for whatever reason.

2006 District 64 Champions!
Congratulations to the Davis American 9-10 team on becoming the 2006 District 64 champions! The team defeated Vacaville Central Little League in the finals to capture the D64 crown. Nice going Davis American!
